I know I have been blogging a lot ... I promise I will shut up soon and give you all time to comment on my other posts. I just wanted to blog about ONE more thing.... possible games to play at the Bridal Shower. I found a few pretty cute ones online that are not too terribly corny:
Purse Scavenger Hunt or Let's Make a Deal Remember that old game show, Let's Make a Deal? At the end of every show, Monty Hall would give audience members money for a specific unusual item. This is the same idea. Divide guests into teams of two or three, giving them a list of slightly unusual items, including a few "why in the world would you carry that in a purse?" items. Assign points to each item based on the likelihood that someone will have it. (a lipstick carries 10 points, a can opener 90 points). The team with the most points is the winner. Another variation is to call out items as the bride is opening presents, giving a small individual prize for each item.
Two Truths and a Lie Each guest introduces herself, and tells the group three things about herself; two are true, one is a lie. Guests then write down, or shout out which one they think is a lie. If a guest is shy, the host should whisper in her ear some ideas for the lie.
Bridal Bingo
There are many fun variations on this game. The most popular is this one: the host pre-fills out bingo cards with things the bride likes, and then has her pull out either the items themselves (if they are small gifts) or slips of paper (if they are things like places she has visited, her favorite color, etc.). Variation two is that the guests fill the cards out themselves with presents they think the bride is likely to receive, putting their own present in the free square in the middle. When a guest has a matching square with what the bride has called (or opened), she can cross it off; five in a row, across or diagonally count as Bingo! Give a door prize to the first winner.
Arts and Crafts Activities
Have a supply of papers, pens, paints, etc. and ask guests to write and illustrate either their favorite memory of the bride, their best marital advice, or a recipe. After present opening, ask each guest to read or explain their project, then have the maid of honor gather the pages into a scrapbook.
Let me know what everyone likes? And NO "they all sound good"'s ... c'mon people, honesty here.

I really like the Purse game. I think that will be fun. I also really like the arts and crafts one. I think Jill would love to have a book of all the drawings afterward. A couple others I've heard of are 'who knows the bride?' you can write a bunch of questions about Jill or even Jill and Tom and pass them out and see who gets the most answers correct. Another one I've heard of is gathering a list of famous couple but only listing one half of the couple on a piece of paper. Each guest has to fill in the other person in the couple and whoever has the most correct couples wins. I don't think I explained that well - does that make sense??
Bree - do you know how many people are coming to the shower??
i like the arts and craft one! knowing jill she would really like that as well. but the purse game would be a lot of fun to! either of those two!
I do not know how many people are coming, I am still getting RSVP - regret emails ... I think we will go with the arts and crafts, and then the purse one too? I will confirm this sometime soon ... after I am home with my mom and we finalize stuff.
I learned one more shower game this weekend that would be easy to do if you guys are going the arts and crafts route. You put the bride and grooms names on the top of a piece paper and give one to each guest. Then each guest has to come up with as many wedding related words as possible using the letters of the couple's names. You can include middle names to provide more letters or just use first and last to make it a little harder.
julia- that sounds awesome, i TOTALLY love those kind of word games (yes, I am comfortable with my nerdness)
