More concrete plans.... and some questions..
Dinner at City Bistro in Hoboken Saturday July 12th at 5:30pm.
http://www.citybistrohoboken.com/
Then our first stop will be the Flatiron Lounge at 9:30 (I am reserving a table).
http://www.flatironlounge.com/
We will decide where to go from there. Jill has already made it quite clear that she is more interested in having a nice chill/fun night out and not some crazy, shot-infested, all-nighter. Ahhhh the differences between her and I ;op
We debated about springing for a hotel - but decided instead that staying at Jill's apt will be more cost efficient (as long as no one minds futons/sleeping bags/etc).
OK now onto some important things: (FOR BRIDAL PARTY MEMBERS)
Jill needs to know:
-who is coming on saturday (day before wedding) for manicures/pedicures?
-who wants Donna (Jill's hair dresser) to do their hair for the wedding ?
PLEASE comment guys ... only a few months left!

It's been a while..
We still need to find a restaurant in Hoboken for dinner (sooner rather than later so I can get our reservation in!) The internet only goes so far with trying to find places - keeping cost and such in mind ... any ideas!?!?
I am going to invite/add the other members of the bachelorette party onto the blog so we can keep all our ideas and thoughts in one spot. Plus, i would still like to have SOME surprises for Jill, as she knows the date/location for the most part.
One of these is going to be - that I am requesting everyone wear black, and I am going to find some hott pink dress/outfit for her to wear. The "Bachelorette- bride to be" stuff I got for her is black/pink leopard print... I got her a veil, and a sash so far. I don't think I am going to go any crazier; Jill really isn't that kind of bride ;op
Jill and I have some tentative bars: (comments are from Jill - she sent me these...)
ANYWAY - let me know what you guys think!!!!

Fittings and Invitation Details - Straight from the Horse's Mouth
(and this is a direct quote...) "ok...we can propose what date you, kris, and I are going to get yours and then say that they need to pick up their dresses before the end of May and its up to them whether they want to do their alterations/fitting with Pat or with whoever and if people want to come play the first and/or second weekend at mom and dad's for invitation stuff they are more than welcome. If they can all let us know when they are planning on picking-up dresses and such that would be much appreciated.(again, preferably before the end of May)
So to recap, if you want to come the date Kris, Me and Jill are going to get fitted, great, if not, do it yourself either through Pat or whoever - but let Jill know when you are going to get your dress, and PLEASE do this before the end of May.
Also, any help with invitation making will be the first two weekends in May - so come and help and play if you want!
Let me know if you guys need any help/clarification on this stuff...

Fittings and Invitations
Jill was wondering what everyone's availability would be for the first weekend in May to possibly get fitted with our dresses and help make the invitations.
This is also Mother's day ... so completely understandable if people already have plans to be out of town.
Comment on your possible availability! Thanks!

moneymoneymoney ... MONEY
ALSO - kind of a big newsflash, the mirror that Jill originally wanted, naturally, is no longer available - they have discontinued it. Stupid freakin' Pottery Barn. So I am going back to the store again today to find a similar mirror/color/size and Jill will just have to deal. I spoke with my mom, and she thought it was better to just keep it a surprise, and do the best we can ...
let me know if you have any objections to this!

Shoes ... let's get some shoes ... oh my god, shoes.
Jill is starting to show deep concern for our footwear.
Here are her recommended sites:
but, really she said as long as the shoe is bone/ivory in color, she really does not mind where you get your shoe. She did want me to share the two shoes she is between, so that we do not show up with the same shoes (omg! how embarrassing ...)

I, personally, will be shopping sales after easter and hitting up Payless and DSW, I am cheap after all, and proud of it.

Reigndeer -- er... Bridal Shower Games
I know I have been blogging a lot ... I promise I will shut up soon and give you all time to comment on my other posts. I just wanted to blog about ONE more thing.... possible games to play at the Bridal Shower. I found a few pretty cute ones online that are not too terribly corny:
Purse Scavenger Hunt or Let's Make a Deal Remember that old game show, Let's Make a Deal? At the end of every show, Monty Hall would give audience members money for a specific unusual item. This is the same idea. Divide guests into teams of two or three, giving them a list of slightly unusual items, including a few "why in the world would you carry that in a purse?" items. Assign points to each item based on the likelihood that someone will have it. (a lipstick carries 10 points, a can opener 90 points). The team with the most points is the winner. Another variation is to call out items as the bride is opening presents, giving a small individual prize for each item.
Two Truths and a Lie Each guest introduces herself, and tells the group three things about herself; two are true, one is a lie. Guests then write down, or shout out which one they think is a lie. If a guest is shy, the host should whisper in her ear some ideas for the lie.
Bridal Bingo
There are many fun variations on this game. The most popular is this one: the host pre-fills out bingo cards with things the bride likes, and then has her pull out either the items themselves (if they are small gifts) or slips of paper (if they are things like places she has visited, her favorite color, etc.). Variation two is that the guests fill the cards out themselves with presents they think the bride is likely to receive, putting their own present in the free square in the middle. When a guest has a matching square with what the bride has called (or opened), she can cross it off; five in a row, across or diagonally count as Bingo! Give a door prize to the first winner.
Arts and Crafts Activities
Have a supply of papers, pens, paints, etc. and ask guests to write and illustrate either their favorite memory of the bride, their best marital advice, or a recipe. After present opening, ask each guest to read or explain their project, then have the maid of honor gather the pages into a scrapbook.
Let me know what everyone likes? And NO "they all sound good"'s ... c'mon people, honesty here.

"When the working day is done..."
Bachelorette Party Post!
Alrite, I know I emailed you guys about this as well - but lets blog about some good ideas. I know nothing about Hoboken, or good places to go out in NYC ( i just realized that I had initially written 'DC' here ... whoops) ... so any and all help is SO appreciated!
Also, we need to find a date and I think the earlier the better, so I can get the word out, and start making some awesome plans!
Jilly already emailed me a list of people to add to the invite list in addition to you lovely gals, so I want to make sure I include them as well, with as little amount of email spam as possible :)
I am going to start looking into restaurants now ...
A Midsummer's Night Shower
With Amy's amazing help, I think I've got the perfect quote for the favors. Attached to the bag of chocolate moons and stars is going to be a little ribbon and tag that has the date and:
"Here come the lovers full of joy and mirth—
Joy, gentle friends! Joy and fresh days of love
Accompany your hearts! 5.1.29-31"
I liked this quote the best because it talks not only about love, but friends as well!
"Now, until the break of day,
Through this house each fairy stray.
To the best bride-bed will we,
Which shall by us blessed be. 5.1.418-421"
I really like this one too though!!! Help me decide!
ALSO : Julia- or anyone else, do any of you have any ideas for games to play at the shower? My mom suggested this ....

Showers of Bridal Updates
My mom and I are about 95% sure that the Bridal Shower is going to be at Asbury Willows. For those of you that have never heard of it/been there... here is the website:
http://www.asburywillows.com/index.html?0.2109660308083085
The website has some great pictures and information. It truly is a great place for a shower, and also a good place to try and convince Jill she is just going to lunch with my mom ...
The time we are thinking will be 12-4. We are still both between doing lunch, or brunch. The brunch sounds too good to pass up, but 12-4 sounds more like lunch time to me. Please comment on your opinions of brunch vs. lunch. EVERYTHING sounds really yummy though.
Questions? Comments? Thoughts?

Fitting Details
Round 1: Saturday, January 5th
1pm. Jill is waiting for a confirmation from the shop owner on the time, so you will prob hear
from her once more to make things definite. Julia and Caitlin can meet me at my parent's house and Amy can meet us over at the The Bridal Path for 1:00?
Please share your thoughts on this and I can provide directions to the Bridal Path for whoever might need them.
Round 2: Krissy and I over MLK weekend...don't need to concern you guys with that!
Hope everyone had a Happy New Years! ... and in other news.....
Bridal Shower Tentative Date: April 12th
PLEASE mark your calendars for this. My mom and I are working on places.
-Asbury Willows
-Hawke Pointe
-Mountain View Chalet
Also, I am working on favors. Since Jill wants a Midsummer Night's Dream theme, I am trying to channel that. I am thinking getting chocolates made into the shapes of moons (a common theme/symbol from the play) or little bottles of love potions (another symbol) and then tying the chocolate and a little card with a love quote from the play into some tulle tied with green and purple ribbon.
man when did i get so girly? would love some idea/thoughts. i am not really up on my Shakespeare!!
